Posada: Haciendo Espacio / Posada: Making Space
In Latin America and Spain, “posada”—meaning “inn” or “accommodation”—is the symbol for traditional Christmas celebrations called Las Posadas which re-enact the story of Mary and Joseph in search of lodging in Bethlehem. In this spirit, ICA LA opens its doors to the community with a holiday family event for all ages featuring performances, music, art, and festive food and drink.
This year, we will feature three performances of Canción del Inmigrante at 12PM, 2PM, and 4PM (timed entry reservation required). Canción del Inmigrante, by Cuñao, One Grain of Sand Puppet Theater and The Mijas Danza Xicana, is a celebration of immigrant stories through music, shadow puppetry and dance.

En América Latina y España, Las Posadas son celebraciones que ocurren durante la época navideña, adonde recrean la historia de María y José en busca de alojamiento en Belén. En este sentido, ICA LA abre sus puertas a la comunidad con un evento familiar en esta época festiva completo con arte, música, talleres, comida y refrescos típicos.
